A Special Announcement

Dearest Community,

For all of us, this has been a year when, more than ever, we have been called to shift our plans and expectations, even toward things that we have come to feel are unchanging. An important gift within the change and loss is that we are invited to consider down deep, what is truly important and of value, what remains even when so much changes.

It is with tender hearts that we write to let you know of an important decision— that it is time to release the physical space of Monterey Bay Meditation Studio.

[Deep Breath … noticing body, noticing heart, noticing mind ...]

We feel tremendous gratitude for the opportunities that the space has given all of us to learn, grow, heal, and connect, as well as all of the good energy that has been co-created as we all have gathered, shared, listened, encouraged, and supported each other and all of us. We also feel tremendous gratitude for you, our precious community, in how you have made the space come alive with your courage, vulnerability, compassion, curiosity, and wisdom.

As you know, for MBMS, this year has been the beginning of online offerings, and we have been inspired and touched to see that “what’s important” has not changed: the warmth of community and the significance of what we explore and learn together. We have been happy to see that for many, there is more access to come together, from our own homes, from all different time zones.

The heart of the Studio is community, and the heart continues to beat and thrive. Whether or not we are in the same room, we continue to share and cultivate the intention of being aware and being kind.

MBMS will continue to grow and change as circumstances continue to unfold. Rest assured that we will explore ways for our local community to come together face-to-face when it is safe to do so, in other spaces and in the beauty of the natural world.

With love,

Marianne and Katie

Our Holiday Tradition Continues

food bank.png

For the past 5 years, Monterey Bay Meditation Studio has joyfully hosted a Food Drive to give-back to our larger community, Monterey County. This year, we are particularly joyful to continue this tradition because:

  • Due to the impacts of the pandemic, the demand for food in Monterey County has quadrupled, and 1 in 3 children are hungry. The opportunity to help someone is particularly precious at this time. Generosity-in-response-to-need is a beautiful embodiment of Reciprocity, a key quality of cultivating healthy community.

  • Contributing to the 2020 MBMS Food Drive is a way that you can express gratitude to the sunlight rooms at 529 Central Ave., Ste.201A, PG, for being a welcoming space for our community to begin, gather, and grow, as we cultivate awareness and kindness in ourselves and in the world.

The Food Bank for Monterey County barrel is in the downstairs lobby of the building. There are also FBMC envelopes available if you would prefer to make a monetary donation— ninety-five cents of every dollar goes directly to food and programs.

After you place your donation in the barrel, we invite you to come upstairs and leave a note on the bulletin board outside the Studio, if you'd like. The barrel and bulletin board will be available until Jan. 4, 2021.

It's a way of expressing a sweet Gratitude to the physical space... and a happy Hurray for our ever-deepening community online.

We look forward to re-Zooming with you soon... and wish you wellness and well-being throughout the holidays and New Year.
