Knowing Who You are (Retreat)
January 26, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
When you know who you are, you can give yourself permission to be who you are, to bring your authentic self to the world. Through writing, meditation, and sharing, explore your history, your values, your strengths, and your struggles in service of empowerment and authenticity.
Awakening to Interbeing (Retreat)
February 28 - March 3, 2019
What if we lived from love rather than from fear? What if we based our interactions on our shared humanity rather than on differing concepts? What if our realization of interconnectedness made an evolutionary difference? How would the world be different, then?
Cultivating Peace from the Inside Out: Mindful Relationship with Anger, Depression, & Anxiety
February 5, 12, 19, & 26, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
Through discussion, guided meditation, & creativity, this course focuses on mindfulness & experiential practices that cultivate a sense of calm, connectedness and well-being; shift emotional reactivity to conscious responsiveness; and deepen insight and access compassion for oneself and others.
How do you want to show up in your day-to-day life and relationships?
When we live consciously, our inspirations and aspirations are embodied in how we show up in our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world around us. This series provides a structure for cultivating a life of compassion and awareness, leading to deeper satisfaction, fulfillment, and wellbeing.

Sitting meditation is the heart of many people’s practice of mindfulness. There are, of course, many ways to practice mindful awareness, and the Studio offers a variety of ways: practices in nature, with movement and creativity, mindful relating, and more. Pausing to meditate with a group, even for just 30 minutes, can support and refresh your practice. Each week, we provide opportunities to engage in silent and guided meditation in a safe, comfortable environment. We welcome total beginners, long-time meditators, and everyone in between.
We love to practice meditation and movement outdoors. When we bring mindful awareness to nature, we awaken essential aspects of our being – connection, perspective, sensing, awe, meaning, and reverence. Research has demonstrated nature meditation cultivates a sense of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Through Nature Meditation drop-ins, Waking Up in the Wild retreats, and Forest Bathing sessions, among other invitations, we offer a variety of opportunities to connect deeply with the ocean, forests, rivers, and land of the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur.
Bringing an attitude of openness and curiosity to our relationships can lead to healing and transformation. Mindful Relating (or Intersubjective Meditation) engages vulnerability, transparency, and awareness of oneself and others – all in service of deep connection. At The Studio, we cultivate this way of being in relationship through Mindful Relating Games and Authentic Movement. In this field of co-creation and co-discovery, we come to recognize and experience our shared humanity on a deep, profound level.
Movement & Creative Practices
Through meditative movement, both guided and intuitive, we cultivate awareness of body, mind, and heart, and we make connections where there are often separations. Through writing and art we move into a space of creativity, openness, curiosity, beauty, and wonder.
We offer private meditation and instruction to individuals, couples, and groups. Send an inquiry and we'll contact you to design and schedule your session.
