Communing & Kinning: Authentic Relating Games

  • Jack's Peak (East Picnic Area) 25020 Jacks Peak Road Monterey, CA, 93940 United States (map)

Authentic Relating Games in Jack's Peak Park

Curious Little Sea Bird: “Hey! Where’d everybody go?!”
Wise Big Pelican: “I hear they’re up on Jacks Peak in Monterey playing something called Authentic Relating Games.”
Curious Little Sea Bird: “Hmmm. Sounds kinda fishy to me.”
Wise Big Pelican: “Well, ARG are like the ocean, but in a different way. I would describe them as … real. deep. fun.”

Now, perhaps more than ever, we need to discover more of ourselves and each other as we play and laugh together, remembering what fun being-together and simply being-engaged can be.

“Whenever people meet the normal human interactions of their daily lives with deepened understanding, energy, and awareness, ordinary interactions are transformed into extraordinary practice.”
~ Gregory Kramer

Imagine this ~ ~ ~ ~ …

  • What might it be like to be with a group of people – some you may know, some you never met – and leave a couple hours later feeling more seen, understood and connected than when you walked-in?

  • What would happen if we brought the qualities of mindfulness – presence, acceptance, curiosity and kindness – into our interactions with others?

  • What if we could cultivate awakening to ourselves and each other through relating … leaning into, discovering, and celebrating the connection that is always, already here?

Mindful Relating Games are facilitated engagements that provide a safe container for going beneath surface-level small talk to connect with others who are also interested in discovering what it’s like to be together with authenticity and consciousness – waking-up to what it’s like being here together, right now.

For those of us who live near-enough to Monterey, let’s get together.

For those who are geographically too far to come-over, just send your name and where-you-are to Marianne (marianne@montereybaymeditation.com), and we’ll have a place for you in the circle.

“I think, at a child’s birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother
to endow it with the most useful gift,
that gift should be curiosity.”
~ Eleanor Roosevelt
