Weekend Retreat at EarthRise

Immersing in the natural world...

Connecting with yourself...

Nourishing body, mind, heart, & soul...

Being in stillness...

Relating authentically with others

This retreat offers an opportunity to open your heart and cultivate spaciousness in your mind

by stepping outside of the routine and familiar... into a world of beauty and state of wonder.

Bringing curiosity into our relationship with nature, ourselves and each other

allows us to experience what is “underneath”

— the silence, stillness and ever-present miracle of simply being here,

in this body, in this community, in this universe.

Program

The intention of this retreat is to offer a safe container for participants to experience deep connection with ourselves, each other and the world. As we cultivate awareness in nature, we discover that curiosity and compassion naturally arise, we feel more fully alive, and we access more of the totality of our being.

Read "Nature Meditation: What's the Point?" by Marianne

This retreat is facilitated by four experienced teachers, Marianne Rowe MS, LMFT; Katie Dutcher, MA; Jennifer Edwards, MA, LPCC, BC-DMT; and Patricia Wolff, DC, MFT. We offer perspectives from wisdom traditions, shamanism, mindfulness, psychotherapy, neuroscience, and nature therapy.

Elements of this retreat will include:

  • Meditation (Guided and Silent)

  • Gentle Yoga and Qi-gong

  • Shamanic Journeying

  • “Shinrin-yoku” (Forest Bathing)

  • Relational Practices

  • Teachings

  • Mindful Inquiry and Discussion

  • Reflection and Writing

  • Periods of Silence

  • Ritual and Ceremony

Marianne Rowe and Katie Dutcher share why they love to practice mindfulness outside. Awareness of the world around us ground us and connects us to what really matters.

Location

EarthRise at the Institute of Noetic Sciences is a beautiful, semi-rural retreat center for multi-day group retreats in Petaluma, California. The campus is a conscious living center that provides a gathering place to explore ancient wisdom traditions, supports experiential learning, and engages in modern scientific inquiry. EarthRise at IONS has become a place where psychologists, educators, leaders, philosophers, frontier scientists, and spiritual masters conduct their work. We support intrapersonal and interpersonal consciousness work in a gorgeous natural setting.

At EarthRise guests can commune with the land and experience ecological awareness and transformational programs and practices that foster self-reflection and personal growth. The campus is a place where we integrate theory and practice, science and spirituality, as well as renewal and retreat.

EarthRise at IONS is located just 30 miles north of San Francisco. It is easily accessible from the East Bay and North Bay, as well as from San Francisco, making it one of Northern California’s premier retreat sites. (See info and directions.)
