This six-week program is an introduction to mindfulness and meditation created especially for those who experience chronic pain, taking inspiration from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Each class session combines training in meditation and other mindfulness practices, gentle movement (as appropriate), and group sharing and support.
In bringing compassionate awareness and acceptance to body sensations, thoughts, and emotions, participants can begin to transform their responses to pain, anxiety, illness, and stress in order to cope more effectively, taking an active role in the management of their health and wellness.
