Sometimes we say “Yes” when we really want to say “No” because we think that saying no might be selfish or mean. But, here’s the thing … In order for folks to trust our “Yes” it’s essential that they trust we’ll say “No” when that’s what’s true.
The heart does not have to close in order to define a limit.
Far from being selfish, setting boundaries is an essential part of creating and cultivating healthy relationships. Fierce Compassion refers to a way of setting boundaries clearly and skillfully while, at the same time, maintaining a sense of connection and authenticity. ‘
Setting boundaries skillfully is:
An act of compassion for oneself, another person, and the relationship;
An essential aspect of Spiritual Activism;
A path to cultivating deeper intimacy and creativity in relationship;
A way of turning conflicts into connection through increased understanding and positive regard;
A practice of being in relationship through mutual respect, deep listening, and compassionate communication.
We cultivate ways to simultaneously maintain a strong backbone and an open heart as we engage in guided meditation, practical skill-building, mindful discussion, and experiential practices.
In this 4-week course, we explore:
Cultivating a Healthy Relationship with Boundaries;
Setting Boundaries in Service of Respect;
Setting Boundaries in Service of Deepening Connection;
Setting Boundaries in Service of the Greater Good.
